The back of the postcard is labeled by hand:
“Trail, where the ore from the “Kimberly Mines” [zinc, lead, iron sulfides] is smolten. Dirty, naturally. Country without much beauty. Barren hills, since a big forestfire took all of the flora a good 30 years ago.”
